Welcome to the MAC Championship
The MAC Tournament will be held at Blue Mash Golf Course on Monday, October 16.  The rain date for the event is Monday, October 23.

Tees: all play from the White tees.

Maximum score: the maximum score on any hole is a 9.  If you have not holed the ball out after eight shots, pick up and take a nine.

Additional red penalty areas: in addition to areas that are marked as penalty areas, all native grass areas and all wooded areas will be played as red penalty areas.  (Therefore, the only out-of-bounds areas will be areas that are off the property or clearly marked with white stakes.)

Lost balls: for balls that are lost not in a penalty area or out of bounds, players have two options: re-tee or use Model Local Rule E-5.  If you hit a provisional ball under Rule 18, please ANNOUNCE and PLAY A DISTINCTLY MARKED provisional ball.  If you play a provisional ball, you are not later allowed to use rule E-5 for the same shot.  You can do one or the other, but not both.

Distance-measuring devices: distance measuring devices are allowed under Rule 4.3a, but all features such as slope determination, club selection, wind /temperature data, etc. must be turned off.  Players may use cell phones to check the leaderboard or use GPS software, but they must not communicate with others via text, phone call, e-mail, or other any other communication app.

Etiquette: bag, club, and/or verbal abuse will not be tolerated during today’s MAC Tournament. Players who either intentionally throw a club as a result of frustration or anger or use of foul or offensive language will be penalized. In the first instance for breach of etiquette, the specific player committing the infraction(s) will be warned by a member of the Committee, and his/her fellow competitors will be notified of the warning. In the second instance of the same breach of etiquette, the player – in accordance with Local Rule 5H -- will be disqualified.

Pace of play: all players are asked to keep up with the group in front of them. The expectation is for a four-hour, 15-minute round.  If your group falls more than one hole behind, you will be given a half hour to close the gap. If you are unable to do so, all players will take a 9 on the hole and skip ahead to get back into position.

Spectators: all spectators must stay on the cart path at all times. There is NO interaction allowed between players and spectators.  Spectators may only leave the cart path for safety reasons or to assist in finding balls.

Coaching: each team may identify ONE coach before the round to coach during the tournament.  A player may only receive advice from that coach on any hole after all competitors have holed out and before anyone tees off on the following hole.
